◎The Sakuragi elementary school won a prize biotope contest at Tokyou Iino Hall on Feb. 14　　They were awarded the Japanese ecosystem association chairman prize. ( best three in the      country) It is the favor of your cooperation. Thank you. Please give us frank advice as before. ◎ DARUMA GAERU pursues a female frog and is croaking in the courtyard of the Sakuragi      elementary school. Since the voice was recorded, please hear it. (Jun. 8)

◎DARUMA GAERU or USHI GAERU was captured in the pond in Toshima, Tahara-city.       We would like to be identified by specialists. Please see for detalls the site of “　The creature

  by which it worries about the extinction in Toyokawa-city ”(May 25)

◎We found three DARUMA GAERU which woke up from hibernation. It seems that one frog    have an egg. A hibernation place is in a courtyard. (May 25)

◎ We found eggs of a species of an AKAGAERU in the north pond today. It may be the egg of AMAGAERU. It is firmly observed from today. (Apr. 2)

◎It apologizes for the renewal of this having been overdue. Opening of our biotope was performed on March 8. The larva of a HOTOKE loach and a firefly was discharged there. Please  visit SAKURAGI CUREATURE WOOD. (Apr. 2)

◎We are going to enrich the page of school biotope and report the situation of stream building  after this. Also we are going promote the activity which lives together nature , such as using rain water for watering of a flower bed. It introduces also about rain water collection using the disused bathtub in a few days.  (Oct. 17)

◎Thank you very much for many volunteers participating in the second stream building on Sat., September 14. It was carried by CHUBUNIPPON newspaper yesterday. It expects that the culture to live together nature is extended to the SAKURAGI school zone. (Sept. 19)

◎The stream is built from Sept.14 (Sat.), 9:00 in the playground of Sakuragi elementary school. Please join us with a towel and gloves. (Sept.7)

◎The homepage of a biotope forum was carried by "The 21st century child various-subjects large question, separate volume" of SYOGAKUKAN. The Sakuragi elementary school was awarded the head of Aichi branch office prize of Japanese wild bird in the Aichi wildlife protection actual result announcement convention. On August 25 the SAKURAGI CREATURE WOOD which performs stream making. We try hard in order to complete the stream. (Aug.21)

◎Many creatures have been added to the school creature pictorial book after a long time. Many beetles are likely to appear this year. We want to continue grasp and research the ecosystem of a school so that a DARUMA frog which is likely to be exterminated, a KAWABATA roach ,a killifish and a HOTOKE loach can live easily here. You of this community, please help us ! (Jun.30)

 ◎The Sakuragi biotope executive committee is looked for. Applicants increase in number and they are 54 persons now. I want to spread biotope culture through an area for the children of this school zone. We got the 2 million yen subsidy for “WAKUWAKU IKIIKI school structure" (Jun.22)

 ◎Although it was every year probably or warm continuously, a HIKI frog woke up from hibernation and the frog was taking out the head to the water surface of a pond.Since the frog takes out poison from the back, be careful ! (Mar.3)

◎Sakuragi elementary school won the encouragement prize in the biotope contest  (Feb. 2)

◎ The national biotope contest-2nd was held at the Sakuragi elementaly school on November 14. Schoolchild had the actual examination of the earthworm-compost and the scene which is making the roof biotope, the aerogenerator and the pond carried out. The judge evaluated a schoolchild's eager activity by the high point, and had advice that it was better to extend activity also to people of PTA and community. Thus, if adults help children's activity, it is sometimes more effective than support by the school teachers. It is the influence by motivation change. Children should participate in the volunteer activity which improves their community not only a sport on a holiday. An important thing is that adults become the supporter of that positively. I ask you from the heart for having the adults of this community become children's supporter.  (Nov.22.'01)

◎The Sakuragi elementary school won the Aichi branch prize of a Japanese wild bird society in the wildlife protection actual result announcement contest. The eleven (sixth graders) announced the school biotope and the Sana river biotope. (August 13) Two birds (OORURI ? and shrike) collided with the window, and dead on the same day by the window of the Sakuragi elementary school. Although there were many shrikes, a beautiful bird like OORURI ? was observed for the first time. having suited the Sakuragi elementary school in the middle of passage by chance at misfortune or there might be territory about here. We want to investigate the fact. (Oct. 13)

◎The fourth grader of the Sakuragi elementary school is large activity! A 25cm MOKUZUGANI, a 10cm catfish and a killifish being SANAGAWA origin were caught. Although they will be home soon,there is the SANAGAWA aquarium in front of the teacher's room now, Please come to see. And a well is being made. It seems that it digs 10m or more and arrived at the watercource at last. If water comes out, I will tell again. (Sept.20)

 ◎The hole is open on the bank near FUREAI park, and eight eggs were in the place with a depth of about 10cm. Although it is probably the egg of KUSAGAME, We want to obtain specialists' opinion. The place currently produced just reached the bank of concrete about 4m. If shore protection of concrete has not carried out, it is thought that eggs have been laid more comfortably. We hope to a related public office that shore protection works are improved so that a firefly and a jar may live in ease.(Jun.22)

◎Usually my commutation was train, however I attended by car after a long time, I found an animal like a raccoon dog with a long tail, and it was run over by car and dead. I was interested in the wildness mammals recently, so I checked it and recognized as HAKUBISIN. It seems that it is now breeding in wildness, so that it sells at the pet shop although it was a natural treasure in Nagano Prefecture up to before for about five years. It seems that it is breeding considerably in HIGASHIMIKAWA and there are some persons who are feeding in the method in Toyohash. Although it does not understand whether did the wild one cross the road or the pet escape and  had the traffic accident. Anyway, a traffic accident is fearful. The accident is encountered and only human does not lose its life. A measure which digs a tunnel through the bottom of a road so that a wild living thing can live easily is expected.

◎It was thought that the upper photograph was TONOSAMA KAERU. It was "DARUMAGAERU" specified to be "extinction anxiety �U" in fact. It was surprised by that so important a living thing is in the biotope of Sakuragi elementary school. DARUMAGAERU cannot be useful on the pond or river by which shore protection works were carried out with concrete. We want you to improve shore protection works.

◎YAMORI found for the first time at the homemaking course room, the Japanese meadow frog which wintered, and the Japanese-style cooking restaurant missed the snapping turtle which was proved to be rumor truly, the firefly which found one was excited and fell into the river, and discovery new every day, and we are passing really pleasant every day. I thank you for“The Sana river clean great work game” in “The day of a school” the other day.  Especially Mr. S of AKEBONO took care not to cut grass, KAWANINA was came as a lot, Garbage was gathered every Sunday. So the firefly is flying joyfully.  Activity of the biotope which the former class 5-2

practiced under the Sakuragi elementary school last year appeared in the magazine a "AT SCOOL". Their activities were accepted. Congratulations ! No less than the class 6-2 is doing its best in this year. More splendid activity is performed. We are looking forward to it. (May 29)

◎The biotope of the Sakuragi elementary school was carried by 2 pages of the synthesis study book on the title "The warm device for a creature." It is published from Kin-no-hoshi Sha Co., Ltd. The hiding place of a lizard made from a faggot and a stone is introduced.  (Apr.9)

◎ Eight larvae of a firefly were discharged in March. We expect to fly a firefly in June.

◎The Sanagawa Clean Strategy was able to be held by 300 persons on Thurs., February 22. For volunteer of this school-zoon and 4th graders of the Kozakai west elementary school, I heartily appreciate your cooperation. This is the first time that the Sana river which became this beautiful was seen. It was pleased also with the catfish or the snapping turtle. Cleaning of 25th (Sun.)

which the volunteer of this school zone should also do its best. (Feb.23)

◎It will gather to HUREAI park at 13:45 on Thurs., February 22, and the Sana river clean strategy is held by 4, 5, and the sixth grader.. The fourth grader of the Kozakai west elementary school also participates. Since the elementary school of the Sana river valley gathers and clean strategy can be held, it is very pleasure. Since it was a dream that all the elementary schools of the Sana river valley take a hand and a hand, and clean the Sana river and the Obi river, it is likely to become the first step. Please participate in the Sana river clean strategy you and by all means. (Feb.15)

◎Illegal abandonment of various things is carried out on the Sana river. Children dug up the buried bicycle over 1 hour. It is anxious in whether television and a refrigerator will be thrown away from April. The body of KOSAGI was in the Sana river with the sparrow. Does KOSAGI drink the poison of the agricultural chemicals which have flowed from a field, and died? Quite dirty water was flowing from the exhaust port. Doesn't it become somehow? I apologize for having mistaken that it is not SUJIKUWAGATA but HYOUTANGOMIMUSHI. (The first ten days of Feb.)

◎　Happy new year. This year is children's sake also. I'll do my best in order to leave the nature of this beautiful earth. Thank you for your consideration. Although the leaf of a deciduous tree fell completely and became lonely but Sunset time is becoming long rapidly. It dreams of spring, creaturs are sleeping calmly. OOTAKA or HAITAKA came to my home in Tahara, but it was  regrettable that it was not able to photograph with a digital camera (January 10).

◎"TAGAME" had been put on our home page,one day arrived the mail from Mr. Ichikawa,

and we recognized that it is “OOKOOIMUSHI”in fact. It is said that it does not know how it came to the pool of the Sakuragi elementary school since OOKOOIMUSHI is the insect which rarely flies. There is also no waterside in near, so it is not clear how to move. (The Sana river is in 1km north) Since SHIRASAGI etc. came occasionally, it might be attached to the body.   *Mr. Ichikawa (meeting chairman who builds the village of TAGAME at Hayashida, Himeji municipal aquarium//chief of  aquatic life living thing special member, a doctor-of-science )    (By bulletin board)  (December 26)

◎Four persons including the chairman of the Nishi Sakuragi old-man meeting were invited, and the explanation meeting about a biotope was carried out. It prepared by 26 persons of the class 5-2, doing their best in what a friend is increased. Thank you for an empty can and milk carton. Moreover, thank you for having you come to a cold biotope explanation. (December 10)

◎(Nov.19)The voice of an insect also stopped also being able to hear completely. Although the Sakuragi elementary school biotope became somewhat lonely, the plan to circulate water of a pond is progressing steadily. I purchased the pump and used 12V battery for RV.  Although the power supply is got from the gymnasium now, but we have plan to replace it by solar power and wind power in future. In detail, it is on the page of a school biotope. (Nov. 4) The lesson plan of a biotope great work game was carried. Please have a look, although it may not become helpful.

◎(Aug.13) The page "why is it a biotope?" was made. Please have a look. The biotope of the Sakuragi elementary school is the chance of observation of now. The situation of a food cycle is known well.  swallow -> dragonfly -> fly mosquito, starling -> cicada, YAGO・ KOOIMUSHI -> KUROMEDAKA -> mosquito larva・ plankton, frog -> dragonfly, grasshopper, mosquito, fly. At our biotope  balance is maintained by the eating relation consumed without increasing too much except KUROMEDAKA. Since there is little natural enemy of KUROMEDAKA, it is increasing explosively now. There are many fries.

◎(Jul.6)The Sana river clean strategy is held.  We hope to keep the Sana-river clean, and protect the SANAGAWA biotope. Please participate by all means. It is a 1:50 water-park set. It enabled it to write in a bulletin board. I am waiting for an opinion.

◎The mail which reached the bulletin board was newly carried. MIZUKAMAKIRI, YAGO, MEDAKA, KOOIMUSHI, and IEKOUMORI were added to the school biotope creature pictorial book. It linked with Osaka Shoseki Co., Ltd. (July 1)

◎The biotope pond of the Sakuragi elementary school is becoming quite busy. MEDAKA has bred considerably, 40cm class of KUSAGAME came to end and stick. A Japanese meadow frog eats a mosquito larva and a fly hard. It seems that the ecosystem of a SAKURAGI style is formed gradually. Daily observation is continuation of new discovery. The Sana river clean strategy is held on Thurs., July 6.

◎(May 26) All of fifth graders caught YAGO in the pool. Since the present third grader put in the branch of tree or a straw, it had become the paradise of YAGO,

KOOIMUSHI,MIZUKAMAKIRI and MATSUMOMUSHI. Since there is no fish, it is just YAGO Heaven. Is it brilliant if thousands of red dragonflies are flying around the Sakuragi elementary school in autumn? Although we hope to grow up carefully, many KOSAGI and AOSAGI come to the bathing pond of the bird of the Sakuragi elementary school. Probably, it is eaten. Although it lives wholly and a thing is important, the balance of an ecosystem must not break down. Do you do your best wholly and live!

◎It seems that it touches earlier than a schedule, and suits on May 23, and one firefly flew near the park. It seems that it was not flying although children of class 5-2  went to see on the 24th. It was regrettable. It was not flying although I went to see it around 8:00 p.m. on the 25th. It is thought that the middle of June is best time to see. All together, let's protect the firefly of SANAGAWA carefully and breed them. A YAGO rescue great work game is held on May 26. Until now, many KOOIMUSHI, MIZUKAMAKIRI, MATSUMOMUSHI, and YAGO were able to be taken. Moreover, it introduces in the pictorial book. The sixth grader of the Sakuragi elementary school holds the Sana river clean strategy from 1:45 on Thurs., June 1 (around FUREAI park) Please the pearson of  Sakuragi school zone gives us participation by all means.

◎I congratulate you on the SANAGAWA meeting establishment. (May 13)  It linked to the  homepage of the SANAGAWA meeting. I want to obtain an opinion also from a member of the SANAGAWA meeting. The time when a firefly flies still more came. It is thought that it flies before or after the beginning of June. Please give the notice of those who were found. The sixth grader in the Sakuragi elementary school holds the Sana river clean strategy from 1:45 on Thurs., June 1 ( near FUREAI park). Peopl of the Sakuragi school zone should participate by all means. (May 22)

◎From 1:00 p.m. on Sat., May 13, the "SANAGAWA meeting" establishment general meeting and a commemoration lecture are held at the Toyokawa municipal Kanaya elementary school. Still more, the activity which a community, a company, and a school are united and protects the Sana river starts. Please join us. The Sana river biotope also considered and the men of the FONOKUNI junior chamber will visit the biotope of the Sakuragi elementary school. Chambers of commerce -- please do your best. It is aiding. (May 2)

◎The bulletin board was added on April 30. The contents of the mail exchange with the Osaka Toyonaka municipal Toneyama elementary school were carried. Moreover, it is due to make it the bulletin board which can be written in from now on.

◎A plan to install well sinking, a circulation pump, and a solar panel is formed. A budget claim proposal is due to be proposed to a city on May 10.

◎It was substantial in the page of a "school biotope."  (April 16, '00) Under the concrete pond of a courtyard by the fifth grader, and biotope-ized planned promotion.

◎The live broadcast telephone performance was decided to the NHK educational TV program "Only one earth" around 10:55 a.m. on Thurs., April 20. A representation of a third grader  receives an interview. It is said that this homepage is also introduced. Please help us.

◎ The Sakuragi school biotope was built together with children on spring vacation. The breath of a life is just felt now. (Mar.31)

◎A pair of kingfisher and a night heron were observable at Obi river south of the Toyokawa interchange on Feb. 5. However, the water quality of the spot is the worst. From the drainage which flows into the Obi river near the interchange, the Obi river is considerably dirty. It understands from the ability of many KAWANINA to also be taken in the place beside  a driving school located on the north of an interchange. I want to carry out drainage which flows from near an interchange somehow.

◎An Aigrette (common-name a Snowy heron) came to come also to the Sakuragi elementary school in December.It may be aiming at the fish of a courtyard. In winter many wild birds come and many white excrement has fallen in the pond of a biotope. It turns out that a dragonfly pond and the bathing pond of a bird are important for birds. To the full, birds could also come to a biotope, since a winter vacation has little human.

◎The second grader built the biotope on Mon., November 29. They found three TAGAME and

about fifty MATSUMOMUSHI in the pool. Now, there is decayed tree behind the incinerator which is not used, and four larvae were found with the male of KOKUWAGATA in it.

◎(Fri.Nov.26) Charcoal was made from the stalk of a kenaf,  and it sank into the dragonfly pond. It is good in a dragonfly pond becoming clean.

◎(Mon.Nov.22) A 42cm catfish and a kingfisher were observable by children in the Sana river creature investigation.

◎Six larvae of the firefly considered to have been destroyed totally were discovered in the tank of the principal's office.

◎(Sat., Nov.20)The second grader put a drama on the stage: "Adventure by POROSA. Bild biotope 〜  Protect biotope〜" by the study exhibition.
